Where to eat in Shelby
You’ll find great food, drinks, and service at many of the local restaurants, diners, and coffee spots. Shelby is known for The Vault Wine Bar, a former bank converted to a restaurant that specializes in wine – both domestic and international – and amazing appetizers, pizzas, and entrees. You can sample a wine flight or two to see what you like, then purchase a bottle to share with friends . . . if you don’t finish it, The Vault will even re-cork your bottle to take home! In the summer there is live entertainment on the patio, and in the winter you can enjoy a special dining experience outdoors in heated domes with friends and family.
- Just a block away is Legends Sports Grill and Pub – the local sports bar where many locals connect for wings, burgers, and brews while watching their favorite sports or throwing some darts.
- The Ivory Bean Coffee House is a unique coffee shop offering delicious specialty coffees, teas, and locally made pastries. They even provide games at the tables so you can have a little fun while you relax with your drink.
- Ted and Ali’s Café is the place to go for breakfast or brunch and is known for great food and service . . . but get there early, they close at 1:00 p.m.
- Let’s not forget Paul’s Drive In. This is where all the locals go on those hot summer days for the best ice cream in town!
What to do in Shelby
When you’re ready to work off all those calories, you can walk, jog, or bike on the .9-mile asphalt path at Reservoir 2, just off Mickey Rd. This is a great place for bird watching. Canadian geese and ducks love the reservoir, and you’ll find even more feathered friends near the shoreline or singing in the surrounding trees. Feel like doing a little angling? Bring your fishing license – this reservoir is stocked with a large variety of fish from largemouth and smallmouth bass to catfish and crappie.
