You may not know that much of Stephen King’s “The Shawshank Redemption” was filmed in and around Mansfield because of the famous Ohio State Reformatory and the quaint shops in downtown Mansfield. You can follow in Andy’s and Red’s footsteps on the Shawshank Trail and visit the Ohio State Reformatory.

The kids will enjoy merry-go-round rides at the Richland Carrousel Park, which can also be booked for parties! For more family fun, visit The Kingwood Center. This former estate-turned botanical garden boasts thousands of flowers, bushes, and trees, a visitor center with a banquet/meeting hall and gift shop, a greenhouse, and the main house. The gardens can be enjoyed year-round and host special events such as the Great Pumpkin Glow, Christmas at Kingwood, the Wine Walk, and more! Because of Kingwood’s beautiful surroundings, many couples book it for their weddings!
