About Kalen
Kalen Skidmore has always been drawn to helping people and finding purpose in his work, which made real estate a natural fit
When he turned 18, Kalen joined the National Guard, following in the footsteps of his brothers, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who served in World War II. Service has always been a part of his family, and it has shaped his values of discipline, responsibility, and commitment.
“I have always wanted to do something bigger than just a regular job,” he said. “Real estate, like my service in the Guard, gives me the chance to make a difference for people.”
Kalen’s background also gives him a unique connection to veterans. “During my classes, the questions that stood out to me were about VA loans,” he said. “I know someday I will use one myself, and I want to help other veterans understand the process too.”
Alongside his real estate career, Kalen is pursuing a degree in accounting at North Central State College. His love of numbers and his experience in logistics with the Guard have given him a detail-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills.
“I am the kind of person who answers when you call,” he said. “Clients can trust that I will work hard for them and make sure everything gets done the right way.”
Kalen especially enjoys working with first-time homebuyers. “They are just starting life, and I am in that stage too,” he said. “I can relate to them, and I want to help make the process less intimidating.”
When he is not working or studying, Kalen volunteers with football at his alma mater, Wynford High School, and stays connected to the sport that has always been a big part of his life.
For Kalen, joining Sluss Realty was an easy choice. “I heard from other agents that the training and support here are incredible,” he said. “That meant a lot to me, because I know having that foundation will help me grow and give my clients the best experience possible.”
At the end of the day, Kalen wants his clients to know they can count on him. “Hard work and dependability are who I am,” he said. “I want my clients to feel supported, respected, and confident as they make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.”
