About Ken

With an “official” clearing for public trust and confidence, coupled with amazing real estate knowledge and experience, Ken Reeder truly has all the skills necessary to provide the highest level of service.

In addition to his real estate experience, Ken has also worked for the Bureau of Labor and Statistics since 2018, helping to build census data. While this work has sent him around the state and beyond, Ken primarily works in Ashland, Richland and Wayne counties. The job requires impeccable attention to detail and, of course, an honest individual as it deals with a great deal of personal identifiable information.

“Number-wise, I really understand the community, and oftentimes, I have to personally speak to people if we don’t hear back from them, so I’m very comfortable talking to people who may not want to talk to me,” he said with a laugh. “By the time we’re done, everyone is smiling, which is always really nice. I also definitely understand housing and schools, and actually a lot of the stats that real estate agents use, my work made those.”

Ken said he got into real estate post covid.

“I was actually running pop culture events – comics, gaming, anime, etc – prior to covid,” he said. “My wife is an artist and was showcasing her work at events like these. We said, ‘Hey, we could run our own.’ We did that for about half a decade before covid hit, but I can’t sit still, so that’s when I went back to school and got licensed as a real estate agent.”

The industry was a natural choice for Ken as he stressed how much he enjoys meeting and helping people.

“I wanted to learn about real estate investing for myself, and it’s the icing on the cake to meet great people and be able to help them on their journey to homeownership and building their own wealth,” he said. “I know when I was a first-time homebuyer, I had no clue what to do, so being able to help others is very satisfying for me.”

Ken currently lives in Cinnamon Lake, in West Salem, with his wife and two children, 9 and 16.

“When I’m not working, spending time with family is my favorite thing to do,” he said. “We love to go on vacations and typically go on a few a year.”

Ken said he’s excited for a fresh start at Sluss.

“I really like that this isn’t a chain or franchise,” he said. “It seems a lot more family-oriented and there are so many opportunities here to support each other. I know we can all be successful together! I’m excited to be here.”
