Licensed since 2002, George Hess got his start as a licensed REALTOR in Santa Rosa, California after spending 40 years conquering Corporate America.4

Formerly the Vice President of Sprint and the Chief Operating Officer of seven start-up companies across the country, George said real estate seemed like the next, most-fitting move.

“I made 19 corporate moves and was just moving so often that this was an industry I definitely understood well,” he said.

When he started, his wife, Paula, also got her real estate license and worked in staging. The pair were a dynamic team for many years before Paula decided to retire and George continued as a solo agent helping countless buyers and sellers throughout the years.

The couple had met in 1977 at United Telephone in Mount Vernon and transferred to Mansfield in 1980. From there, they moved several times before moving back to Mansfield in 2011 – Paula’s hometown.

George continued his real estate career and looks forward to continuing to help as many clients as possible.

When asked what he’s learned throughout many years of success, he said, “Perserverance. And definitely to have high energy!”

George said people have always been his favorite aspect of real estate.

When he’s not working, George is very active in his church as the treasurer and loves vacationing in Maine.

“Boothbay Harbor is our favorite place,” he said. “We go up there every year.

It’s just quiet, nice and beautiful. I flew 150 miles a year for work that I don’t care if I ever see another airplane. We go where we can drive and just enjoy the ride.”
