“I have a passion for others,” Shawn shares. “My whole goal is just being out there for other people.”

That passion is deeply rooted in his Christian faith, which has helped shape his values and the way he approaches relationships with others. Whether serving his community as a firefighter or helping someone navigate an important real estate decision, Shawn believes in treating people with kindness, making time for them and being someone they can count on.

His background in firefighting has also helped shape the way he handles responsibility, communicates with others and approaches challenging situations. Comfortable working under pressure, Shawn understands the importance of remaining levelheaded and being someone people can rely on. He carries those same qualities into real estate, where he believes trust is earned through actions, not just words.

“I think it’s by just showing up, honestly,” Shawn says when asked how he builds trust. “If you show up and you show that you really care for them,” it helps build that relationship.

Those values also influenced Shawn’s decision to join Sluss Realty. While the brokerage’s approach to marketing initially caught his attention, it was the genuine care and support he saw for its agents that made a lasting impression.

“I could see how much you guys care,” Shawn shares. “You really care about your agents here, and I really like that.”

For Shawn, being part of a brokerage that shares his commitment to people and relationships was an important part of choosing where to build his real estate career.

Shawn also has a thoughtful perspective on what buying or selling a home means to the people involved. He recognizes the pride homeowners take in their properties and the memories attached to them. He’s especially interested in helping sellers showcase what makes their homes special while connecting buyers with properties where they can create memories of their own.

“That’s what I believe a house is. It’s not just a house, it’s a home. That’s where you build your life.”

Growing up in a close-knit family as the youngest of six children, Shawn developed a strong appreciation for family, community and the relationships that shape our lives. He feels especially connected to the rural communities of Central Ohio, where he enjoys the quiet surroundings, open land and opportunities to spend time outdoors.

When he’s not working, Shawn enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, playing sports and spending time with family. Whether he’s enjoying the outdoors or meeting someone new, his easy going personality and genuine interest in others make building connections something that comes naturally to him.
